Sequoia Ski Club General Meeting

A general Membership Meeting of the Sequoia Ski Club was called to order on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. by President Debbie Stewart at the Marriott dining room. A quorum was established – 14 members.
The minutes of the November 20, 2008 meeting were approved as posted on the website.
Nancy Hamar gave the Treasurer’s report: Checking account balance is $1,562.89 and the CD’s balance is $17,709.42.
Nancy Fellows reported the total membership is 26. FWSA membership cards were given to the members. Benefits of the use of this card are listed on the FWSA website.
George Stewart reported on ISH – International Ski History Association. Website is skihistory.org.
The Sierra Council Winter Party at Northstar was a success. Five members from our club attended the event.
Final details for FWSA Ski Week to Big Sky Montana were given. The Fresno Airport shuttle van/trailer for seven members will meet at 5:30 a.m. at Joe and Rosalie’s home. Cost is $40.00 per person. The Sequoia Ski Club dinner will be at Andamo Italian Restaurant. Members need to wear their FWSA Badge to all events during the ski week.
Other FWSA events were announced: April 2009 at Northstar is the FWRA Championships, ski trip to Argentina and Chile in August 2009, and a Baltic Cruise September 13-23, 2009.
Newsletter editor Delora Buckman reported that a So Go is being put together and will appear soon.
Possible dates for Sequoia Ski Club’s birthday party at Sierra Summit are March 22 or March 29 2009.
George Stewart was nominated as Man of the Year and Debbie Stewart was nominated as Woman of the Year to represent our club at the FWSA Convention in Reno in June 2009.
The next meeting will be February 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the Round Table. The March meeting will be on the 26th at 7:00 p.m. and the location will be announced.
