SEQUOIA SKI CLUB GENERAL MEETING

A general Membership meeting of the Sequoia Ski Club was called to order on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 7:08 p.m. in the Round Table Pizza at Packwood Creek by president Debbie Stewart. Debbie welcomed members and guests. A quorum was established: 15 members were present. Debbie reported on the February 7 Board of Directors meeting where the club’s financial and nonprofit status, upcoming income taxes were discussed.
Secretary’s minutes for December 2007 and January 2008 general membership meetings were approved as written on the club’s web site.
The treasurer report for checking account is 1,375.02 and the CD is $17,053.57.
Woody Hogan reported on membership: 39 paid members.
George Stewart said a newsletter would be coming out soon. Our club web site is sequoiaskiclub.com.
Debbie talked about the successful FWSA trip to Whistler/Blackcomb. 86 Sierra Council members attended with 30 of them Sequoia Ski Club members. There will be a Sierra Council Apres Ski Party February 23 at Northstar. The annual Sequoia Ski Club Birthday Party is set for March 30. FWRA/FWSA Championships will be in Mammoth April 4-8. FWSA Convention will be in Bellevue, Washington on June 5-8. Alaska Cruise will be June 8-15.
Debbie reported on her Site Inspection trip to Big Sky, Montana. She is taking reservations for that FWSA trip now.
Our next meeting we will select a nominating committee for next season’s Board of Directors Officers. The election will be held in May.
Next General Meeting will be Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. The location will be announced.
